NRA Basic Rifle Instructor
As with all other NRA Basic Firearms Instructor courses, NRA Basic Rifle Instructors are tasked to teach others the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for the safe and proficient use of a rifle in target shooting.
This course is ten (10 hrs) hours long, excluding Basic Instructor Training (BIT). For those who are not yet NRA Basic Firearms Instructors, please note that you MUST first sit the NRA's Basic Instructor Training module - "BIT" which is not specified by the NRA as an actual course, but is a pre-requisite for all instructor candidates. In addition, the NRA requires all current instructors who have not sat BIT in the past two calendar years must re-sit BIT before taking any additional NRA Basic Instructor courses.
Please see here >> for more information on BIT.
In addition to the requirements listed on the "BIT" page for all new NRA instructor candidates, there are requirements specific to Rifle Instructor, including a pre-course qualification, which is normally conducted 2-3 weeks before the start of a listed Rifle Instructor workshop, and is included in the cost of the course.
Please see this link >> for the NRA's pre-course qualification for Basic Rifle Instructor candidates.
