Basic Shotgun Instructor

The NRA Basic Shotgun Shooting course is geared primarily towards shooting moving targets (i.e. - trap / skeet). It is our experience teaching NRA courses that the NRA has very specific requirements in its course content for any course that has a "defensive use" component (for example, Personal Protection Inside the Home).  As a result we teach this course exactly as the NRA requires, and offer our own "defensive shotgun" course which is not an NRA course nor based on the content within the NRA basic shotgun curriculum.

NRA Shotgun Instructors help to develop in shotgun shooters that knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for the safe and proper use of a shotgun in shooting a moving target.

In addition to the requirements listed on the "BIT" page for all new NRA instructor candidates, there are requirements specific to Shotgun Instructor, including a pre-course qualification, which is normally conducted 2-3 weeks before the start of a listed Shotgun Instructor workshop, and is included in the cost of the course.

Please see this link >> for the NRA's pre-course qualification for Basic Shotgun Instructor candidates.
